Care Magnesium Sulphate Paste 50g is a topical treatment for skin infections such as boils and carbuncles. Boils and carbuncles can be unsightly and cause discomfort, especially when touched or when exposed to friction caused by clothing. Care Magnesium Sulphate Paste 50g offers a quick and easy solution to treat troublesome skin complaints and ease discomfort caused by boils and carbuncles.
Care Magnesium Sulphate Paste 50g helps to treat boils and carbuncles by drawing moisture from the affected area. This dries up the boil which helps to alleviate the pain and discomfort, as well as helping to support the healing process.
Both boils and carbuncles are skin complaints that can cause discomfort and be unsightly.
Boils are red, painful lumps that appear on the skin and are usually caused by a minor skin infection. Boils can develop anywhere on your skin but they are more likely to appear on an area that has a combination of hair, sweat and friction, such as the face, neck or thighs. Pus forms inside the boil which makes it bigger and more painful over time. After a period of a time (usually between 2 days and 3 weeks) most boils will burst and the pus drains away without leaving a scar. It can sometimes be tricky to identify a boil compared with a spot, but boils usually grow bigger and are more painful than spots.
Carbuncles are clusters of boils that are dome-shaped and usually develop over a few days. These clusters usually affect the back, thighs or the back of the neck and can grow to a size of 3-10cm and will leak pus. If you are suffering from carbuncles you may also experience a high temperature of 38°C or above, feel unwell, weak and exhausted. Carbuncles are less common than boils and are more likely to affect middle-aged or older men with poor health or a weak immune system.
Boils and carbuncles are usually caused by a type of bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus which infects 1 or more hair follicles. A boil can appear when bacteria enters the skin through cuts and scrapes. The immune system responds to this infection by sending white blood cells to kill the bacteria. A build-up of dead bacteria, dead blood cells and dead skin cells forms pus inside the boil. A carbuncle develops when the bacteria infection spread further beneath the skin to create a cluster of boils.
How to use
Stir Care Magnesium Sulphate Paste 50g well before use.
For use on the the skin only.
Adults, the elderly and children:
Apply liberally to the affected part.
Do not use repeatedly.
Not for use on infants.
