Balneum Cream is easily absorbed by the skin to soften and soothe dry, irrigated skin. The active ingredients Urea (5%) and Lauromacrogold (3%) work to replace the necessary oils, improve moisture retention and prevent further moisture loss. Those with eczema and psoriasis have reduced amounts of Urea which is naturally found in the skin; Balneum Plus Cream helps to replenish these levels.

Prescribed for the treatment of dry skin conditions including eczema and dermatitis, Balneum Cream contains 5% urea and 3% lauromacrogols.
The main ingredient, urea, helps to treat dry skin in three different ways:
- Helps to hydrate the skin by holding water
- Removes dead skin (keratolytic)
- Relieves itching (anti-pruritic).
It can work for up to 24 hours when used as directed. Lauromacrogols helps to reduce any itching and can have a local anaesthetic effect.
Balneum Cream may not be suitable for everyone and its use might be advised with caution, or may not be recommended at all. Patients who are allergic to peanuts or soya, or any of the other active or inactive ingredients, or who have a skin infection or an acute inflammatory condition, might find this treatment isn’t for them.
Urea may make the active ingredients in other creams or ointments pass through the skin more easily, so during your online consultation, you should make the doctor aware of any other treatments you're taking. An alternative treatment may be prescribed if Balneum Plus doesn’t have the desired effect. How to use
Using clean hands, apply the Balneum Plus Cream into the affected area twice a day until the symptoms have eased. If symptoms persist talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
