Buy Nasonex
Nasonex is a nasal spray containing the active ingredient mometasone furoate, a type of medicine called a corticosteroid. Nasonex is used to relieve hayfever and allergy symptoms (rhinitis), such as sneezing, itchy eyes and blocked or runny nose. This medicine can also be used to treat nasal polyps, small growths in the lining of the nose.
How Nasonex relieves allergy symptoms
Nasonex nasal spray contains 50mg of the active ingredient mometasone furoate in each spray. This medicine works on your immune system to reduce the inflammation that occurs in hay fever and allergic conditions, relieving symptoms such as redness, swelling and itching. The nasal spray also reduces the amount of mucus in your nose.
Directions
Firstly, shake the bottle gently and remove the dust cap. You should then gently blow your nose to clear your nostrils. Close one nostril with your finger and put the nozzle into the other and start to breathe in gently through your nose. Whilst you are breathing in, squirt a spray of the medicine into your nose by pressing down once with your fingers. Remove the nozzle and breathe out through your mouth, then wipe the nozzle with a clean tissue and replace the dust cap.
The recommended dosage for Nasonex depends on your age and you should always follow your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist’s advice. This information is intended as a guide only.
For the treatment of hay fever and perennial rhinitis
For adults and children over 12 years, the usual dose is two sprays into each nostril, once a day. Once your symptoms have improved, your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist might advise you to decrease the dose. On the other hand, if your symptoms don’t feel any better at all, your dose may be increased up to a maximum of four sprays into each nostril once a day.
For children aged 3 to 11 years, the usual dose is one spray into each nostril daily. If your child suffers particularly badly from hayfever, their doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist may suggest that your child should start using Nasonex before the start of the pollen season in order to prevent hayfever symptoms.
For the treatment of nasal polyps
For adults over 18 years old, the usual starting dose to treat nasal polyps is two sprays into each nostril once a day. If symptoms aren’t controlled after 5 to 6 weeks, the dose can be increased to twice daily instead of once. Once the symptoms are under control, your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist may advise you to decrease this dose.
