Nurofen Meltlets are mint flavoured orodispersible tablets containing 200mg of ibuprofen. Orodispersible means these tablets will dissolve in your mouth without the need for water, making them a great option if you struggle to swallow regular tablets or capsules. Nurofen Meltlets are suitable for adults and children over 12 years old.
The recommended dosage for both adults and children over 12 is two tablets to start, then a further one or two tablets every 4 hours if necessary. Place a Nurofen Meltlet tablet on your tongue and allow it to dissolve before swallowing without water. Do not chew the tablets. Children and adolescents between 12 and 18 should not take Nurofen Meltlets for more than three days, and adults 10 days, without consulting a doctor first.
Nurofen Meltlets contain 200mg of the active ingredient ibuprofen, an everyday painkiller used to treat a wide range of common aches and pains including headaches, period pain, joint pain and muscular pain. Ibuprofen is classed as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) - these medicines work by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the body that cause pain and inflammation.
How to use
Suitable for adults, the elderly and children over the age 12 years old.
Take 2 tablets of Nurofen Meltlets. Place the tablet on the tongue and allow it to dissolve. Once dissolved swallow. No water required.
Do not chew Nurofen Meltlets tablets.
If necessary take 1-2 tablets leaving at least 4 hours between doses.
Do not take more than 6 tablets in a 24 hour period.
If this product is required for longer than 3 days for children or 10 days for adults, consult a doctor.
Hazards and Cautions
- For oral administration and short term use only.
- Do not exceed recommended doses.
- If symptoms persist or worsen seek medical advice.
- No suitable for children under 12 years old.
- Do not take if you have or had a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding.
- Do not take if you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or other related painkillers.
- Do not take if you are taking other NSAID painkillers, or aspirin with a daily dose above 75mg.
- Consult your pharmacist/doctor before taking this product if you have/had asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, a stroke, heart, liver, kidney, or bowel problems or are dehydrated.
- Consult your pharmacist/doctor before taking if you are a smoker or pregnant.
- Keep out of sight and reach of children.
